I have been talking about getting a new bike for over 12 months and everytime I had the money to purchase the new speed machine I somehow finding myself on a plane back home to Australia.
The first time this occurred was in July last year. This trip saw me going to Sydney for 5 days to witness one of my little brothers get married AND become the godmother to my beautiful nephew Jackson. So of course there was no way I was missing out on that.
The second time was when I decided that I was going home for the first time in 5 years to spend Christmas with my family and friends in Melbourne. No money could put a price on that - bbq's, sun, training in the heat, and seeing my family and friends. It was such a quick visit, I didn't get to see everyone but I will be back again next Feb/March.
So finally I saved all the cash for the new speed machine and I pleased to advise that I have him now and I got him 2 days before my 36 birthday.
I present the classy, light, elegant and bloody fast speed machine 'Magic Mike' also known as 'Magic Machine' or MM
He is a beauty. I have taken him out so far for a nice 80km ride to Windsor and a few laps around Richmond Park.
I love him. He will come with me to Italy next month where I am riding Nove Colli Sportive with 12,000 other cyclists; in June we head back to England for Swashbuckler, then July we head to Germany to race in a Iron distance relay team in Challenge Roth, followed by my second Half Iron distance race for the season in August - Vitruvian. In between those races I also have a couple of 100 miles sportives, namely Ride London 100 miles. Awesome riding times await us.
MM and I have some amazing months of cycling ahead of us and I can't wait.
Till next time
Toodles :)
